Yopo-Huasca

1 day / daytime Ceremony
November, 23rd
10am - 4pm

Leaf and deVine Church is very happy to introduce a new medicine to our community. During our dietas in Peru over the past year, we were introduced to this medicine by our Shaman in Pucallpa. Our Shaman is an indigenous alchemist and has been working with sacred medicines for the past 33 years. He has worked tirelessly with this particular medicine to create the exact balance so that it would be completely safe and so very beautiful. Normally, the combination together of Ayahuasca and Yopo would be a toxic one, but in this Rape,’ the Bufotein is not activated because there is not enough lmao (pronounced emau) to activate it….so it is only active in the DMT.
Our curanderas have sat with the Yopo-huasca in Peru and Gloria Barthel, our lead Yopo-huasca facilitator, has undergone extensive training with this Shaman to learn to serve safely and beautifully.
Yopo and Ayahuasca are to be considered in the category as “the medicine of the Gods”. Yopo, is a powerful and ancient entheogen traditionally used by indigenous tribes in South America. Revered for its profound effects on the mind, body, and spirit, this plant is making waves in modern alternative medicine and spiritual practices. Yopo is a perennial tree native to the Caribbean and South America that has been used in healing ceremonies and rituals for thousands of years. The spiritual experience of yopo, also known as Anadenanthera peregrina, can include a sense of communication with other intelligent life forms, or a sense of another intelligence that is emotionally detached but super-intelligent.
Yopo-huasca is administered through a ceremony that involves blowing the powdered substances through the nose. The ceremony consists of several stages:

  1. Assumption: The powder is blown into the nostrils using a specially designed pipe or tube, typically administered by a shaman or experienced practitioner.

  2. Duration: The effects of medicine are intense and immediate, often lasting for one to two hours. During this time, participants may experience vivid visions, profound emotional release, and deep spiritual insights.

  3. Closing: The ceremony concludes with grounding practices, such as sharing experiences, eating light food, and resting.

  4. Effects & benefits of Yopo-huasca are multi-faceted, influencing the physical, emotional, spiritual, and mental aspects of the user.

  • Physical: users may experience an initial sensation of warmth and tingling, followed by relaxation and enhanced sensory perception.

  • Emotional: it can facilitate the release of pent-up emotions, providing a cathartic experience and emotional healing.

  • Spiritual: Many users report profound spiritual experiences, including a sense of unity with the universe, insights into their life purpose, and connection with ancestral spirits. Mental: this medicine can induce altered states of consciousness, leading to enhanced creativity, clarity of thought, and expanded awareness.
